Since today is our last day we thought we had better go out to the reef like the beach boys have been trying to convince us to do all week. We did not feel we needed their assistance but they are persistent. They just keep walking and talking with you. The tide was way out so we had to walk pretty far. The reef wasn't as spectacular as they had made it sound but we did see 2 neat things. First, Daniel, got to hold a spider starfish. I didn't know there was such a thing. No photo of it as we didn't bring our cameras. Next, we saw an eel. Interesting to watch and I got to feel it's skin. Slippery as an eel is right! The beach boys felt they needed payment for showing us the reef. Ended up they got sample size shampoo from our room which they were most happy with.
Check out went easily and we were happy to find out that our plane to Nairobi was on time. Our driver from Mayfield was there to meet us and we all stopped on the way back to the guesthouse for chicken take- out or take away as it's known as here. Mayfield is really closed now for the Christmas break but somehow once again God provided. We are grateful.
